Terms of Use
Customers should only purchase Reserved Instances (RIs) in good faith if they are confident that they are going to use them for the whole term and should make sure they rightsize prior to buying RIs. Premium and Advanced customers can contact the service desk for advice and assistance.
It is the customer's final responsibility to make sure that the RI’s purchased match their resources. Aptum will not retrospectively refund customers who purchase the incorrect RIs.
If the resources in the Azure portal are resized and no longer match the RI originally purchased it is the customer’s responsibility to cancel and repurchase the correct type.
If the RI is cancelled before the term is completed a pro rata refund for the remaining term will be issued with the following conditions:
- Microsoft have a 12% early termination fee that they are currently waiving but could be reintroduced and applied. Aptum will notify customers as soon as they are made aware of any changes to the early termination fee.
- The sum total of all canceled reservation commitment in the customer's tenant cannot exceed USD 50,000 in a 12 month rolling window. Any RI's that have a remaining term that exceed that amount will only receive a maximum of USD 50,000.
- For example, for a three-year reservation (36 months) of 100 USD per month refunded in the 12th month, the canceled commitment would be 2,400 USD (for the remaining 24 months). After the refund, the new available limit for refund would be 47,600 USD (50,000-2,400). In 365 days from the refund, the 47,600 USD limit would be increased by 2,400 USD and the new pool would be 50,000 USD.
- Customers selecting a three year term should consider these conditions carefully.
When migrating away from Aptum the customer can also choose to migrate their RIs. It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure they have informed Aptum that they have migrated as we will continue to bill for any outstanding RIs otherwise.
Aptum will not credit customers who’s RIs expire and aren’t renewed. RIs do not automatically renew, and it is the customer’s responsibility to login and repurchase new RIs.
